A French Professor of Economics, Jean Tirole born on 9th August, 1953 at Troyes, France. He has a French nationality. He has a Engineering degree from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris in 1976. Jean obtained a Ph.D. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Teechnology for his thesis ‘Essays in Economic Theory’. His working field is Microeconomics, Game Theory, Banking and Finance and Industrial Organization. Tirole is known for collaboration with the late Jean-Jacques Laffont. Tirole won BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in 2008 and John von Neumann Award in 1998.
