A Medical Student, Lucia Petterle from Brazil has crowned Miss World 1971 by Jennifer Hosten at the Royal Albert Hall, London, United Kingdom on 10th November, 1971. Miss World 1971 was the 21st edition of Miss World beauty contest. Michael Aspel and David Vine hosted the beauty contest where 56 beauties were participated for the title, ‘Miss World 1971’.

Lucia’s full name is Lucia Tavares Petterle. She born in 1949 in Rio de Janeiro. She won the First Runner-up Miss Brazil 1971 title. Lucia was studying medicine from the University Gama Filho during competing Miss World beauty contest. Later, She completed her specializing in Endocrinology. At present, She runs her own Paediatric clinic. She has regularly play a role as a judge in the Miss Brazil beauty contest.
