Miss World United States, Marjorie Wallace has crowned Miss World 1973 by Belinda Green at the 23rd grand finale of Miss World beauty contest which was held at the Royal Albert Hall, London, UK on Friday night of 23rd November, 1973. Marjorie is the First American beauty who won Miss World title.
104 days after being crowned, Marjorie dethroned due to violate Miss World contract. Miss World officials announced that Marjorie has failed to fulfill the basic requirements of the job. And therefore Miss World authorities took away her title on Thursday 7th March, 1974. Patricia Teresa Yuen Leung from Jamaica (Second Runner-up Miss World 1973) completed the Miss World duties without the title and the crown. The First Runner-up, Evangeline Pascual refused this offer.
