Reita Faria from India has crowned Miss World 1966 by Lesley Langley (Miss United Kingdom and Miss World 1965 Winner) at the 16th edition of Miss World finale. Miss World 1966 beauty contest was held at the Lyceum Ballroom, London on Thursday night of 17th November, 1966. 51 beauties were competed for the title, Miss World 1966.
Reita Faria was the First Indian and also the First Asian beauty who won Miss World title in 1966.

Reita’s full name is Reita Faria Powell. She was born in 1945 in Mumbai, India. She is 173 cm tall. Reita was a student of the Grant Medical College & Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals. She was professionally a Model and a Doctor. She won Miss Bombay 1966 and Eve’s Weekly Miss India 1966 beauty contest. Reita was invited as a judge at the Miss World 1976 and also at Femina Miss India 1998. Reita married to her memtor David Powell in 1971 and settled with her husband in Dublin, Ireland.
